Android G2Well, as I was re-hashing what I wanted for the site. I wanted to include something that hinted that I'd have some Android stuff on the site.
I also wanted a cooler looking Tux than what I had previously ... So the search began, and it ended up with what you see now.
Tux G2 I found a few cool Tux(s) that gave me ideas ... I started searching through google for Tux images. Looking at the orginals from Larry Ewing, I also found http://tux.crystalxp.net/, which is a Tux factory...
Within the Tux factory forums I found a nice how-to with a phostshop psd file on how to create a "G2" tux...
The Tux displayed here, and in my site logo is actually from Jan Vansteenkiste. And the original copy can be found here. But it got me thinking. I started looking for other cool pictures for derivatives of the Android logo. My search turned up bupkiss as far as I was concerned. I really couldn't find anything I was happy with.
So I thought. Well... since I have no artistic ability whatsoever, why not try to use the aforementioned how-to to try and create a "G2" Droid.
Android G2So heres the full size for your viewing pleasure. For my first attempt, 6 hours and approx 50 layers later.....
So if you find it cool looking and want to use it. Go right ahead. Consider it licensed under the Creative Commons.
I'm also attaching the original Gimp xcf file. It was an interesting diversion, and as usual I lost all sense of time.

Logos look awesome!
Wow, I never knew you were a graphics guy too. The droid logo is very cool and I hope to have the occasion to use one in the future sometime. Nice work.
